Killara roof repair

Slate roofs are something that we specialise in and like all of our work, take great pride in doing.

The slate itself is a hardwearing natural stone renowned for its durability.

The problem with this roof leak in Killara was actually the box gutter. It needed to be wider to allow for a larger volume of water flow.

We removed the slates to the box gutter section to enable us to remove the box gutter itself. We then removed the cladding and timber plynth and installed a new timber base for the wider box gutter.Once this was in place we could then install the new wider colorbond box gutter. We refixed all the sarking , the capping and the slates, using copper nails. Along with all the lead soakers, which were all in good condition. Then we cut the cladding to suit the new structure and fix this in place.

This was a relatively small job and was completed in a day, enabling us to get through a couple more one day roof repairs and therefore catch up and get us back on track.

Next week we are starting a new slate roof  installation in St Leonards. Along with contractors starting another new roof for a builder and a roof repair in St Ives.
