New Roof Pymble

Well it has been longer than I would have liked since I last wrote my blog.

We have been on a big job for the last few weeks, and this has taken up all the manpower we have. It’s a change from the run of repairs we have had, and an eye opener for our new 1st year apprentice.

What a ripper of a roof it is. 500sq mtrs and 45 degree pitch.

Not the easiest to move around on but nothing better than seeing the finished result.

We laid heavy duty sarking and 38x28mm battens. Customer tile choice was terracotta shingle in colour eclipse. Tiles were fixed every second course with 65mm gal clouts. Matching caps fixed to ridge were bed and pointed using flexipoint to match tile colour.

We installed builders blanket on a section of existing roof, this acts as insulation and reduces noise, it also meets with fire zone regulations, which is particularly beneficial in bushland areas such as Pymble.

All lead work has been completed as well as all new gutters and downpipes installed. The customer has chosen to have our leaf screen installed, which again is highly recommended when surrounded by trees.

Just have the last few finishing touches to complete over the next few days and then a queue of repairs to start getting through. I am sure many people will be happy to see us over the coming weeks, lets hope the rain holds off.
